The Transportation Planning Board voted against Gov. Larry Hogan’s toll-lane plan last month, before changing its mind amidst heavy lobbying from the governor’s office.

“This is essentially a vote of no confidence for the project” to add lanes to portions of I-495 and I-270, said Montgomery County Councilmember Evan Glass.

A new proposal would only add high occupancy toll lanes on I-270 in the northern part of the state, and scrap expansion in the eastern spur.
