Immigrants Make Up 15 Percent Of D.C.’s Population
Mayor Bowser has released the “State of Immigrants in the District of Columbia” report to gain insight into how immigrants are acclimating to D.C., further improve relations, and provide more access to resources the District government offers.
“It is a clear need for residents in the District, and we’re addressing it,” says General Counsel Betsy Cavendish.
Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faith leaders are participating in the event, including a vigil that started at 4 p.m. and a rally scheduled for 5 p.m.
“Tax money in Washington is federal tax dollars because the federal government runs it,” O’Reilly completely incorrectly declared.
“We must ensure that all District residents can take advantage of their federal and constitutional rights,” the mayor said in a statement.

Prince William County Leaders Angry After Immigration Officials Cancel Controversial Police Cooperation Program
Leaders in Prince William County are upset that the federal government has decided to discontinue a program that allowed local police officers to check the immigration status of those suspected of being in the country illegally.
Immigrants may only make up 22 percent of the Washington, D.C. Metro region’s population, but they account for 28 percent of its workforce and 33 percent of its small business-owners—the fifth-highest rate in the U.S.
