D.C. Chief Librarian to Retire Later This Year
Ginnie Cooper, the head of D.C.’s Public Library system, will retire later this year, she said today in a news release.

D.C. Libraries To Offer Free Music Downloads
In case you haven’t quite yet had the chance (or the inclination) to jump on the Spotify train, the D.C. Public Library might have a free way for you to check out some new music.
Despite public outrage with the reasoning, Council Chair Kwame Brown’s decision to reassign Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) off the Council’s Committee and Public Works and Transportation passed by a 12-1 vote this afternoon. Wells was the lone objector.
