Missed Trains, Missed Connections: Metro Tops List of Places We See (But Don’t Talk to) That Special Someone
Most missed connections in D.C. happen on Metro, while in Virginia they take place at the gym and in Maryland at the park.
When it comes to finding free humor on the internet, the Craigslist missed connections board has always been a trove of comedic gems (OK, I’ll admit to perusing the MC listings in a non-humorous, semi-lovelorn mindset). For those of you too lazy to read through the dozens — nay hundreds –missed connections, SocialStudiesDC, the beta city-blog under the coupon giant LivingSocial, has done some of the work and reading for you. The blog picked out a few gems and had actors from the Washington Improv Theater conduct dramatic readings of them, background music and all. Hope these uplift an already near perfect Saturday, unless if you you’re the target of these MC’s, then we hope these help.

Virginia Is For Missed Connections
Last October, Craigslist — for whatever reason — decided that they wanted to figure out the most “romantic” Metro station. Using the rock solid methodology of “counting the number of missed connections at any given station,” they came up with Vienna/Fairfax‐GMU. And it turns out other major metropolises have nothing on suburban Virginia.
Here’s an ad from Craigslist’s missed connections section that seems totally appropriate, considering that the gentleman in question is only in town for a few days. Who says robots don’t need to get it on?

A Universally Missed Connection
Here’s a bit of entertainment to get you through the gloomy afternoon — a tipster draws our attention to this Craigslist missed connection, which I think we can all relate to, yes? For those of you with less than perfect vision, it reads: Dear personal space: I used to have you, sometimes, on the Metro. Now you are a missed connection. You exist in a realm which extends (if I’m lucky) about 3-4 inches from…

Go Home Already: All the Wrong Places
>> It’s not tough to earn the ire of Rock Creek Rambler, but when you make it this easy, we have to wonder whether or not you’re doing it on purpose. Though we have to hand it to you, the line, “Let me just say, it was to hard to organize resistance to you!” will go down in history as the one that made the entire DCist staff snort Diet Dr. Pepper through their…

Elsewhere in the Ist-a-verse
LAist has so much fun this week! They go to E3, where they overhear the timeless remark “Man, this is where nerdy girls get laid.” Is that a promise? They also give us this week’s best CDs and make us realize that LA is the best place to use Zillow. Ah, Houstonist. They’re biking to work, that is, if they can figure out how to get there. That’s right, Mapquest says “Houston had the…
