Takoma Park artist Bibi Abelle gained a following by creating fine-line tattoos inspired by famous artworks.

Opening weekend includes a real-life tattoo artist offering “flash tattoos,” and a chance to explore the museum’s expanded galleries.

The pandemic is forcing the city’s major cultural institutions, many now closed, to ponder their futures.

“DMV Color” includes contemporary books, graphic novels, photobooks, and zines from area artists.

“I don’t care about precision,” the artist says. “I care about things that make you feel something.”
