Looking Back: Old Naval Hospital
Perhaps you’ve walked by the stately building, on Pennsylvania Ave SE right near Eastern Market and wondered what it was. I know I have, often. Though plans for the building have been idly tossed around — a new mayor’s mansion, a library — nothing…

Photo of the Day: June 14, 2006
Today’s photo, by Flickr user outdoor_type, using a Canon EOS 30D, is of a sign found on the Old Naval Hospital on Capitol Hill. The National Library of Medicine gives us a little background info on the building – which has been vacant for quite some time – including attempts to turn it into the Mayor’s residence, a wellness center, or a library. The photo’s EXIF data can be found here….
