The National Zoo’s porcupines Beatrix and Quillbur welcomed a baby porcupette into the world.
Visitors can already see the new porcupette, along with mom Beatrix and dad Quillbur, in an exhibit in the Small Mammal House.
Quillbur “is going to be a very busy fellow.”
For the fourth time since December 2015, the Smithsonian’s National Zoo prehensile-tailed porcupines Bess and Clark brought life into the world.
When one animal is shipped to China, another is born at the National Zoo.
