The U.S. Institute of Peace has an odd request: it wants D.C. to move a portion of Constitution Avenue.

It was so damn hot in the last week that even our transit infrastructure was suffering, sometimes dramatically so.

On Saturday, a portion of 14th Street NW between F and G Streets collapsed due to a water main break, closing the road to traffic for a short portion of time. DDOT said that they’d need to make more permanent repairs over the next few days — and one look at the size of the hole explains why those more extensive repairs are necessary.
