Much-Anticipated Afrofuturism Exhibit Featuring Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ Suit Opens At NMAAHC
Science-fiction writer Octavia Butler’s typewriter, the Lt. Nyota Uhura costume from “Star Trek,” and Sun Ra’s space harp are a few of the other objects that will be on display at the new exhibit.
The NMAAHC launched a “Searchable Museum” this week, translating its archives and stories into an interactive digital experience.
“I am eager to engage further directions in the museum’s mission, embracing our digital present and future while furthering conversations around Black history, art, liberation and joy,” Young said.
