Swann Street Protestors Plan To Appeal After Judge Dismisses Their Lawsuit Against D.C. Police
Demonstrators who took to the streets after George Floyd’s killing sued D.C. police, alleging violations of their constitutional rights.
The D.C. chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union said it is reviewing nearly 150 complaints from June 1, including 50 from protesters on Swann Street.
Police chief Peter Newsham said he has “no evidence” protesters were beaten, but that the allegations will be investigated.
The District will enforce a curfew for the fourth consecutive night on Wednesday, beginning at 11 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. on Thursday.
