Tommy Branch, who was convicted in May of carrying out a savage beating of Capitol Hill resident Thomas C. Maslin last August that left Maslin with with brain damage and other life-altering injuries, will serve 24-and-a-half years in prison.

A D.C. Superior Court jury today convicted Tommy Branch, a resident of Fort Washington, Md., on 11 counts for his role in a brutal attack last August on a man walking through Capitol Hill that left the victim with brain damage and other severe injuries.

The family and friends of Thomas C. Maslin, a D.C. man who was savagely beaten in August are holding a fundraiser on his behalf tonight to help cover the cost of his extensive medical bills.
