Tornado Watch Issued For D.C. Area
Expect thunder and gusty winds tonight.
This does not mean a tornado has been spotted, just that weather conditions are favorable to produce one.
The District and its surrounding areas are advised to be on the lookout for tornados until at least 7 p.m. tonight, according to a severe weather alert issued by the National Weather Service.

It’s Official: Tornado Terror 2012 Has Arrived (But Seriously, a Tornado Watch is in Effect)
The National Weather Service has put basically the entire Mid-Atlantic under a Tornado Watch until 9 p.m. While that doesn’t mean that we will be hit by a tornado, it means that the conditions are certainly ripe for them forming.

Tornado Watch In Effect Until 4 p.m. Today
