The District is currently under yet another tornado watch, which, according to the National Weather Service, means that there is a “significant risk” of tornado conditions occurring. That is to say: it’ll be really, really windy — gusts up to 50 miles per hour are possible in some areas. The watch expires at 8 p.m.
Also, from a glance at the radar, it appears as if the predicted second round of heavy rain will be making its way into the D.C. area any second now. The storms, which have been passing through Northern Virginia for the last half-hour, are plowing their way into the District at a rapid pace of 45 miles per hour. Godspeed, you Daily Show line-waiters! Here’s hoping you all brought ponchos.
