Tune Inn to Reopen on November 4
The venerable Tune Inn is coming back. The adored bar will reopen on Friday, November 4, several months after an early morning fire caused significant damage and forced ownership to rebuild the kitchen.
The short-term booze outlook along Pennsylvania Avenue SE keeps getting darker, at least in the short term: Hill Rag brings news that Capitol Hill institution Hawk ‘n’ Dove will close down this fall, bringing an end to Stuart Long’s 44 years of ownership.

Tune Inn Kitchen Destroyed, Owners Will Rebuild
The beloved Tune Inn, one of the oldest bars in the District, will have to replace its kitchen due to a fire that broke out yesterday morning.
Early this morning, The Tune Inn — the bar of choice for several local politicians, journalists, bloggers and those with refined taste — experienced a kitchen fire, which has left the bar with “moderate” damage.
