If you’ve noticed anything unusual in the George Washington University campus, it could be because today marks the last day of the week-long “26th Annual National Conservative Leadership Conference” organized by the Young America’s Foundation. (The other YAF)
Their website promised participants would be able to “Learn to identify liberal textbook bias and what to do about it,” and “Meet and ask questions of your conservative heroes.” The heros included Ben Stein, Fox News reporter Major Garrett, and Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, in addition to usual smattering of representatives from conservative groups. Moore’s comments were the only part of the conference to garner media attention, in the form of this write-up in the Birmingham News.
The conference also included a performance by The Right Stuff a conservative comedy troup that bills themselves as “Comedy for Real Americans.” Their website’s online store features Kerry Flip-Flops (Get it!? Hah!) as well as bumper stickers reading “Osama Begs You: Vote Kerry in ’04” and “Terrorists Agree: Kerry-Edwards!”
