Don’t know what to do this weekend? DCist has some suggestions! Check it out:

FRIDAY:
Seen the re-release of Donnie Darko but still not filled your cult classic quota? Fear not, Landmark’s Bethesda Row Cinema is hosting midnight screenings of such cultural signposts as The Breakfast Club (this week) and Office Space (Labor Day weekend). A quick five minute walk from the Bethesda Metro, all showings are at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights, and tickets are $6.00 … a small price to pay for the likes of Molly Ringwald and Milton.

DCFoodies.com does us a favor and reminds us that Sam and Harry’s is taking half off every bottle of wine on their menu on Friday and Saturday nights until Labor Day. DCist took advantage of the half-price wine earlier this summer. Steak, wine, good times. Bottoms up!

– DJing collective First Ladies DC closes out August with Summer’s Eve, a DJ spin-off at the back room of the Black Cat. $5, starts at 10 p.m.

– Want a story of marital infidelity? Opening at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring: “We Don’t Live Here Anymore,” based on writings by Andre Dubus, starring Naomi Watts, Mark Ruffalo, Peter Krause and Laura Dern.

SATURDAY:
Party like a dog … with your dogs. At Buffalo Billiards, 6 p.m. $10.

– Hyperactive punk rockers Bad Wizard play the Black Cat tonight, with openers (how’s this for a great band name?) the Assrockers.

– At the Velvet Lounge, New York party animals Banana Fish Zero. Hear them sing about the “ugliness and beauty of America,” as one reviewer puts it.

SUNDAY:
– The Maryland Renaissance Fair continues in all its medieval glory, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. You can do stuff like attend jousting matches and make fun of wacky costumes.

MONDAY:
– So Monday isn’t part of the weekend, but for many Democrats, the week of the GOP Convention will be treated like time off. Half-price wine at Chef Geoff‘s Uptown and Downtown. $5 Downtown burgers.
