DCist would like to make a public service announcement. October 1 (give or take a day) most voter registration books across the country will close for the Nov. 2 election, including those in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Are you registered to vote?

If not, it is a quick and painless online process that requires a click, a print, a little writing, an envelope and a stamp. Think you can do this? DCist thinks you can. In fact, we will cheer you on. Go voters!
