During DCist’s server maintenance, we weren’t able to post anything about the talk of the blogosphere: Sunday’s New York Times Magazine cover story with Washington’s very own Ana Marie Cox of Wonkette. (For the record, Cox is “bi-metro,” splitting her time between D.C. and New York.) As Richard Leiby points out in today’s Reliable Source, Cox had a birthday party Sunday evening and Cox was nice enough to extend an invitation to DCist. Even Juleanna Glover Weiss, the grand hostess of Kalorama’s Wyoming Avenue, was there with husband Jeffrey Weiss, celebrating Cox’s rising fame.
While the talk and the champagne toasts on the roof terrace of Local 16 focused on the NYT cover story, there were some stirrings about the substance and quality of the Times’ article by Matthew Klam. Many apparently didn’t make it through the entire article. The stuff toward the end about the DCCC executive director getting into an argument with Daily Kos about the Ginny Schrader race in Pennsylvania got a bit too wonky.
Anyhow, if you haven’t read it, be sure to take a look. And be sure to check out DCeiver’s amusing commentary.
