When DCist heard that a man was jailed after being caught with a massive child pornography cache, we knew immediately where to turn: the vigilant folks at Washington’s NBC4 News.

Sure enough they delivered with photos of both the child pornographer himself and his bucolic suburban home. The man was arrested after a repair crew called police after stumbling across the material. His house had been damaged by the remnants of hurricane Ivan on Sept. 17.

The 52-year-old Robert L. Medvee of Frederick, Maryland is being held on 48 counts of creating computer images of child pornography and 48 counts of possession of child pornography for his extensive collection, which seemed to stun local officials. Here’s Frederick County State’s Attorney Scott Rolle: “It was the largest seizure of child pornography I’ve ever seen … We had to bring in a pickup truck to get all of it out of there.”
