With the weather staying in a rather nice fall pattern recently, Capital Weather reports that tonight’s lunar eclipse will be somewhat obscured by high clouds, but viewable nonetheless. As Gothamist reported for New Yorkers, DCers can expect the eclipse to start at 9:14 p.m., with the total eclipse occurring at 10:23 p.m. and lasting until 11:45 p.m.
Astrologically, a lunar eclipse is typically associated with lack and change. Something that has been obscured will come to light, attitudes and moods will be affected, worries and longings will surface. Basically, be prepared for something to not sit quite right, small or large, but don’t worry, most eclipse astrological affects are miniscule and many times, change is for the better. Tonight’s lunar eclipse occurs in Taurus, tag-teaming off the Libra solar eclipse earlier this month and occurring at the same time as a unique Grand Quintile. Venus is a central focus as the ruler of both Taurus and Libra, and associated with the five-planet quintile formation. DCers with fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) may be most affected by tonight’s eclipse.
This eclipse brings the temptation towards overindulgence in the pleasures of life, especially food, drink and sex. Money matters are likely to be troublesome, as you tend to spend too easily for the pursuit of pleasure and luxury and overeating due to unhappiness will be prevalent. Strong desires for physical pleasures and comforts need to be moderated into more practical affairs.
Do not be rushed or forced into making a commitment. Once you make an emotional commitment to a project, idea, or relationship, it’s likely to be hard to get out of should the need arise. Use this energy to overcome opposition, but use charm and diplomacy rather than brute force.
What does this mean to the average person? Usually nothing exciting. Most good astrologers will note that astrological affects are most of the time negligible. But, DCist is aware of a certain Game 4 being played tonight where a team that has yet to close the deal has a 3-0 lead. Should they win, a lot of lives will change forever. So not only do the BoSox have to navigate that dastardly curse, but now they have an eclipse to deal with as well.
