According to new surveys released from Zagat, people in the nation’s capital don’t go out to eat much compared to cities elsewhere in the nation. The national average of restaurant visits per week is 3.2. Washington comes in below that average at 2.8. We must be overworked.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas report much higher averages at 3.8, 3.6 and 3.6, respectively. Zagat concludes that weather may play a factor. Do you have any theories why we don’t patronize restaurants as much as other cities. Could President Bush, who rarely ventures to local restaurants (Cactus Cantina on Wisconsin Avenue and Bailey’s Crossroads’ Peking Gourmet Inn are the few exceptions), be bringing down our average?
