>> Tonight is the next installment of the Art & Soul series at The Blue Room. “One Night Stand” features silk screens by Tang as well as drawings & paintings by Zach Storm that address the lingering feelings after a one night stand. This free event kicks off at 8 p.m.

>> A number of gallery exhibits will open on Friday as part of the Dupont Circle First Friday series. New shows include “Christopher Burkett: Resplendent Light” (color photographs) at the Kathleen Ewing Gallery, “Toys” (prints by Lee Newman, including “Paper Flower,” right) at the Washington Printmakers Gallery, and the “Sculpture Invitational 2004-2005” at Gallery 10. The galleries are open 6-8 p.m. and Galleries of Dupont Circle has more info and a map.

>> Also on Friday, “6” opens at the Zenith Gallery. Artists Gloria Cesal, C.M. Dupre, Nat Krate, Ann Marchand, Davis Morton, and Brad Stevens will each present “6” new artworks.

>> There is yet another opportunity for museum shopping this weekend. ArtsMart at the Renwick Gallery will include art by selected California artists available for sale (though we don’t make claim to reasonable prices). If you don’t have the money or interest in buying, you can still enjoy demonstrations by the artists. The annual event lasts Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
