Smooth Commute Expected: With a full day of plowing since the end of this weekend’s snow storm, area transportation officials are predicting a smooth commute. The only wrinkle? The Archdiocese of Washington’s Youth Mass will take over some downtown streets for about an hour starting at noon today.

Traffic Camera Lobbying: If there’s one story you can count on the W.Times to be on top of, it’s the latest on automated red-light and speed cameras in D.C. Today’s paper is no exception: they report the company that manufactures the cameras has paid two former District government insiders almost $500,000 for lobbying (or what the company calls “communications and outreach”). The lobbyists are a former D.C. Council fund-raiser and the former deputy chief of staff and legal counsel for D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams.
