In the mood for some stand up comedy? You’re in luck: this weekend the D.C. Comedy Fest is bringing dozens of stand up comics and improv troupes to several D.C. venues for a weekend of fun. Although we don’t recognize many of the names the event may prove perfect for the adventurous – they claim all the performers on the opening night, Thursday, March 17 hail from the Washington metropolitan region. Whether or not that sounds like a good time to you (“DC is funny … just not always on purpose!” the organizers boast) for $10 for the entire evening of live entertainment you can’t go wrong.
If free is more in your price range the festival even has something to offer you – they have offered all the performers not accepted to the festival the opportunity to perform for free at the D.C. Arts Center, a black box theater located in the heart of Adams Morgan. Planned for 8 p.m. through midnight on Thursday the 17th through Saturday the 19th, the time and location makes it a perfect stop before (or during) an Adams Morgan bar crawl. Cheers!
