If there’s two things we love, it’s kids and voting. The D.C. Young Suffragists combines both of these — it’s a group of kids age 4 to 12 that lobbies the U.S. Senate for voting rights for the District of Columbia. In February, they visited Capitol Hill to deliver cake and cupcakes (donated by cakelove) to 30 senators’ offices.

In the past they’ve also held rallies (there were snacks, an important draw for the pre-tween crowd) and a tea party at the White House. The Young Suffragists is a project of DC Vote, an organization which works for full voting representation in Congress for the residents of the District.
