The weather is supposed to be cooling down later this week thankfully. We at DCist suggest that you check out some more museums you may not be aware of. Check out part I, II and III of this series.

>>The Claude Moore Colonial Farm at Turkey Run is just too cute. Can you believe its beekeeper won first prize at the Arlington County Fair for his honey? Alert the Ingalls family! Besides being able to buy that award-winning honey, you can ask the period-clad staff everything you ever wanted to know about life in the 18th century. The farmer’s wife will be hard at work preparing the family’s meal and apparently she’d love it if you’d pitch in.

>> Head out to the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda (or if you live there, stick around) and discover how women have influenced and enhanced the practice of medicine. The library and museum are located on the campus of NIH. Haven’t you always wondered what goes on inside of that place? Well, the current exhibit will show you that women have been at the forefront of medical technology. They have developed innovative surgical procedures and won Nobel prizes. What was that Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers saying about women’s lack of aptitude for science?
