Dad’s Day Thoughts
Mother’s Day is always a bad day to brunch. It seems 90% of the restaurants in town are mobbed with families, and “special menus” just for Mom are standard fare. But Father’s Day? Not so much. We’ve been calling around and haven’t found many special Father’s Day menus; in fact, unlike Mother’s Day, many area restaurants still have plenty of spots available. This makes us wonder — why does Father’s Day seem to get the short shrift? In any case, we’re probably not headed out on Father’s Day anyway; instead, we’ll be making Dad proud by showing him our grilling prowess. What are your plans?

No Chicken for You
Boy are we glad we came up with a similar recipe just in time. Reputable sources report that the awesomely delicious organic roast chicken at Palena will be unavailable for at least a month, due to problems with the vendor. We hope it comes back soon; sure it takes 45 minutes, but the anticipation is worth it. But if you need a fix right now, try our attempt from a few weeks ago. Not an exact duplicate — but some of the best roast you can make at home.
