WMATA is set to implement some new schedules on a select number of bus lines starting Sunday. While the complete information can be found here, we’ll highlight some changes on the D.C. routes affected.
D2/Glover Park-Dupont Circle
Weekdays, buses will run every 10 minutes during the morning and afternoon peak hours. On Friday nights after 1 a.m., buses will run every 37-38 minutes. And for the last-departing drunk buses from Connecticut Avenue and Q Street on Saturdays, the 3 a.m. bus will leave at 2:50 a.m. and an additional bus leave Dupont Circle at 3:23 a.m. (We’re sure the cranky man on Benton Street who has been raising a fuss will just love that 3:23 a.m. bus that’ll go by his house sometime after 3:30 a.m.)
96,97/East Capitol Street-Cardozo Line
Because of problems associated with street closures on the Capitol campus, there will be some shifting in how often buses come. “During the morning and afternoon peak hours, 96 buses will run every 18-20 minutes and 97 buses every 11-15 minutes. In the off peak, buses will run every 25-40 minutes.”
S1,S2,S4/16th Street Line
There will be some slight changes on the S1 route. Additionally some S2 buses will have their terminus at McPherson Square and in the afternoon a number of S2s will be eliminated. Instead, the S4 will see additional buses added to its route to compensate. Now how about some express skip-stop service between Lafayette Square and Silver Spring?
