MONDAY:
>> Texas indie group Eisley is an adorable family affair: the three DuPree sisters take care of guitar, vocals and keyboard, while their brother plays the drums. Their subtle, darkly sweet music and slow harmonies are completely charming. They play the 9:30 Club tonight for a late show, with doors opening at 9:30 p.m. and Eisley themselves go on at 11. $10.
TUESDAY:
>> Eels bring spellbinding songwriting and majestic pop to the 9:30 Club tonight. Don’t get us wrong; we love us some Mark Everett, and the latest album is gorgeous, but where exactly does the band get off charging $25 to see it in concert?
>> Local indie rock faves Army of Me take the stage at Nation, along with D.C. songstress Laura Burhenn and NYC band The Upwelling. Check out three Army of Me tunes here. Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased here.
>> John Hiatt performs with the North Mississippi All-Stars Wolf Trap, our favorite outdoor venue. What could be better than watching Hiatt rock out with his signature alt country tunes under the summer sky? 8 p.m.; tickets are $20 for lawn, $26 for seats.
THURSDAY:
>> As far as we’re concerned, there’s only one must-see musical event this week: Unbuckled, the DCist concert featuring Cartel and Bicycle Thieves. Come on out for a great night of local rock and giveaways. Tickets are $7 (they’re not for sale beforehand, but you can buy them at the door), and things will get started at 9 p.m. at the Black Cat backstage. Hope to see you there!
