Good morning, Washington. Now that the National Zoo has doled out public tickets, more photos of the baby panda are appearing online. Flickr user guy_incognito has uploaded an adorable set of photos of Butterstick/Tai Shan. Although we don’t want to make you too jealous, this DCist will be taking a peek today. Turning to the news, yesterday was one of those days when all kinds of odd news improbably happens on the same day. What do I mean? Let’s take a little stroll through our fine metropolis, you may not know what you’ll encounter. How about …

A Home Stuffed With Cats: So maybe you remember a Virginia woman who last summer was prohibited from owning animals after officials discovered some 488 cats in two houses in Fairfax. How zany! That sort of thing was certainly to only happen in the suburbs, right? Think again! Officials have extracted 56 cats from a Northeast D.C. home, the AP reports. The Washington Humane Society described the scene as “disgusting” as the owners couldn’t keep up with keeping the litter box clean. Naked Men Leaping Off Building: An even stranger scene unfolded in downtown D.C. yesterday when an unknown man jumped out of an idling SUV totally naked, walked into an office building, took the elevator to the 8th floor and then jumped to his death, the Post reports. In an ironic twist, vigilant D.C. parking enforcers ticketed the man’s car before anyone realized what had happened.

A Burning Gas Truck on I-95: A tanker truck carrying 8,700 gallons of gasoline exploded into flames in I-95 in Prince George’s county, the Post reports. The cause of the fire, which started in the cab, is unknown. Over 100 fire fighters responded to the blaze, which spread to the median and nearby woods before the gasoline burned off.
