If you’ve secretely had a crush on WAMU’s Kojo Nnamdi and his smooth voice, tonight is your chance to see the man in the flesh.
Tonight is the first of a series of “Kojo In Your Community” townhall meetings that will take place monthly until July throughout the area, during which Kojo and members of the community will come together to discuss issues of importance. Tonight’s meeting will take place at All Souls Unitarian Church on the corner of 16th Street and Harvard Street in Mt. Pleasant, and will focus on the ever-important topic of affordable housing and the District’s changing housing market. The event is set to begin at 7 p.m., but they ask that attendees show up at 6:30 p.m.
And even if you don’t much care for the topic, Kojo himself sounds like quite the draw, according to the listing for the event on Upcoming.org:
If you’ve never seen Kojo in action before a live crowd, I hope you’ll attend. In addition to being amazed at his finesse working a crowd, you’ll also get an up-close opportunity to meet listeners and see how passionately they feel about the services the radio station provides.
DCist hearts Kojo, so we might make a quick stop by to swoon.
