MONDAY
>> The 9:30 Club has enough hotness going on tonight to shut down for the rest of the week. Luckily, they’re not, but tonight will still be one hell of a night for music in its hallowed halls. Kicking things off with the early show are The Sounds, female-fronted Swedish rockers, peddling what we call indie and the rest of the world calls pop, much to the delight of reviewers ’round the Web. Touring in support of their sophomore album, Dying to Say This to You, The Sounds are joined tonight by Action Action and Morningwood, two bands that could draw a solid crowd on their own. $15, 5:30 p.m. doors.

And for the late show, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah comes to town in support of his latest release, Fishscale. Ghostface is no newby (with four previous solo albums and a career’s worth of work with Wu-Tang), but this album is being touted as one of the best rap releases of the year, and his best offering since Supreme Clientele. Refreshing, amazing, remarkable — people love this album. And his and any other Wu-Tang Clan show are peerless in their energy, enthusiasm and love of what they do. If you’re up for a Monday night late show, this one should not be missed. $20, 10 p.m. doors.

>> Iota’s welcoming boozey Irish Scottish troubadors Arab Strap, with A Whisper in the Noise. There’s something for everyone tonight; no matter what poison you pick, you’re sure to be pleased. $12, 8:30 p.m.

TUESDAY
>> The much anticipated, much stressed, much debated Death Cab for Cutie/Franz Ferdinand show at DAR Constitution Hall is finally here. For the lucky ticket holders in the audience, have a wonderful time. For those of you peddling them on Craigslist, please be kind. 7:30 p.m.

>> Anthony Pirog is one of the best guitar players I’ve ever heard. Bryan Hindert is quite a bassist, and Brian Dexter is hell on the old skins. So I’m hella excited to see what happens on Tuesday night when the three pull the old switcheroo, with Pirog on drums, Hindert on lead guitar and vocals, and Dexter on bass, performing as The Red Hot Galactic Super Gravitational Pull. Dexter will be a very busy man, as his band Death by Sexy *** is second on the bill, followed by his other band, The Bonapartes ***. DC9, $8.
