No one has any sex this week. What’s up with that? I’d gotten used to seeing a little bit of skin between Josh and Donna.
We open with Leo’s funeral, which was shot in Baltimore, but really could have been shot anywhere. The service is very nice and everyone looks appropriately grief-stricken, though there is one notable missing person: Sam Seaborn. Where the heck was he?
After the service, the new President-elect gets down to business. Santos and Josh clash over the race for House Majority Whip, after Josh insists that he not get involved in the whole thing. There are also a few names thrown around for the new VP, but it’s no one we’ve seen before.
In the White House, staffers mope around until the President arrives and cheers everyone up by telling funny stories about Leo. He is particularly nice to Margaret (who has a great hair cut) and Josh. Unfortunately, annoying and bitchy Amy is back. She starts in on Josh right away about picking a woman for the VP slot. She then tells Josh he should date one of her friends, in front of Donna. Sigh. I really do hate her character.
Danny and C.J. apparently also had sex (off-screen) and try to arrange for another “date,” but Donna puts an end to the booty call by arranging to stay at CJ’s house while they’re back in D.C., even though Josh nicely invites her to crash at his pad.
President Bartlet keeps everyone up by telling more funny stories about Leo, and it really is a great and loving tribute to not only Leo, but John Spencer too. Unfortunately, Santos ruins it by offering Amy the LD job in the new administration. On Sunday: Sam FINALLY returns, for real.
