This week we reported that some police officers have been wrongfully enforcing the D.C. smoking ban in restaurants, found one of the area’s best burgers in an unexpected place, recognized that maybe there may be too much junk food in local food banks and commended the Post for its four Pulitzer prizes. We checked out some local bands at the Black Cat, found unintentional hilarity over at WMATA’s website, pondered express service on Metro and reported on developments at the National Harbor. We found a Ward 3 candidate exploiting celebrity status for his campaign, reported on Nats GM Jim Bowden’s run-in with the law, considered a local do-gooder’s strange ploy to raise money for good causes and spent plenty of time talking about the church parking debate. We found two ways to make the District a better place, finally established that the Washington Times really doesn’t have many readers, previewed Kiss Me Deadly at DC9, sampled local donuts, surrealistically celebrated 4/20 and considered how to better green our local transit network. We reported that the Yellow Line will finally run extended off-peak service to Fort Totten, questioned the weekend’s street closures and analyzed the supermarket situation in the District.
