It looks like the coronation of King James will have to wait a few days. After posting a triple double in his first ever playoff game, LeBron James followed that up with a 10 turnover stinker that included a missed breakaway dunk. Instead, the Cavs were lead by Drew Gooden (11-12 from the field, 11 rebounds) and aided and abetted by some stretch run calls by the officials that had Wiz fans screaming “home cooking!” Alas, it was all for naught for the Cavs. Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison hit big three pointers in the final minutes last night and the Wiz held on for a road win in Cleveland.

The Cavs had a chance to tie the game late after Billy Thomas (Yes, that Billy Thomas that played in only 17 games all year) missed two free throws, but LeBron, mired in a 7-25 shooting night, passed up a three point attempt to get the ball to Anderson Varejao down low for what seemed like an easy bucket. But before Varejao could complete the play, Gilbert Arenas, aka Agent Zero, swooped in and stole the ball, sealing the win for Washington. Expect to hear and read plenty of “Why didn’t LeBron shoot it?” stories over the next few days in advance of Game Three on Friday at the Verizon Center.

Agent Zero led the Wiz with 30 points, six assists and six rebounds. Antawn Jamison chipped in with 21 and seven, while Caron Butler, the last of Washington’s Big Three, supplied the pressure “D” on James. He may have also given LeBron some fuel for Friday (as if he needed it) by taunting him after the game. Much maligned Brendan Haywood played his part with a hard foul on James early in the first half that seemed to energize his team and to knock LeBron down a peg. Also worth noting, a Cleveland fan was ejected from the game after allegedly shouting a racial slur at Wizards coach Eddie Jordan. Friday night should be interesting, indeed.
