MONDAY
>> Tucson’s Calexico will be at the 9:30 Club in support of their new album Garden Ruin, along with Toronto-based singer/songwriter and Broken Social Scene alum Jason Collett. Tickets, running $15, are still available, but even if you can’t make it, fear not: Calexico seem destined to be featured on every soundtrack to every indie film released in the next 2 years. Doors at 7:30, show starts at 8:45 p.m.
>> While Echo and the Bunnymen have been around for more than 25 years, bringing us fabulously British post-punk anthems, Boy Kill Boy are just beginning their career of sounding like every other danceable electro-pop band out there. You could check both of them out at the Black Cat, but it’s sold out. $20, 8 p.m.
TUESDAY
>> Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls has all the characteristics of a great performer: She’s charismatic, talented, a bit raunchy at times and a little dramatic — and she can write some fun, energetic tunes to boot. The Dolls sneak all of this into their self-described “Brechtian punk cabaret.” They’ll be at the 9:30 Club, along with some group you may have heard of called Panic! At The Disco and The Hush Sound. But tickets are going, going … gone. Sold Out, 6:30 p.m.
