Day 2 of Scorcher ’06, and much like yesterday, it’s a hot one out. It’s so hot, in fact, that Virginia and Maryland are offering free rides on buses to prevent people from driving (and thus worsening the already poor air quality) or walking (thus preventing them from melting into a pool of sweat). So hot that the District is still offering cooling centers, street showers, and fans to residents. So hot that, well, you get the point. And we’d like to note that WJLA isn’t being very creative these days — in an article posted today, they took our trademark “scorcher” to describe the weather today. Tsk, tsk, WJLA. The heat must have gone to your head.
