As this is Washington, prepare for a protest tomorrow: — the Post reports that the largest protest regarding the Israel-Hezbollah conflict is to occur tomorrow. It’s expected to draw tens of thousands of people to surround the White House.

Police Investigate Shootings: Last night Southeast saw four distinct shootings. Three of the shootings occurred around 9 p.m. in the area of Minnesota Avenue and Naylor Road. NBC 4 relays that three adult males and a juvenile male were shot. Police are looking into if the shootings are related. Though the exact condition of the victims was not know during the publishing of the NBC 4 report, all are expected to survive.

Feisty Mayoral Race Continues: Linda Cropp took yet another jab at Adrian Fenty yesterday, part of a campaign that has quickly gone negative between the two front-runners. The Post reports that Cropp said Fenty mishandled the money of at least two elderly clients while practicing law. Cropp is quoted in the article as saying, “If Adrian Fenty refuses to explain his record when it comes to senior citizens in the District of Columbia, then I owe it to the District to hold him accountable.” According to the article, Cropp’s comments, made during a forum sponsored by the AARP, were met with hisses.

Area Airports Report Surge in Plastic Bottle Throwaways: The lines were long yesterday at Reagan, BWI and Dulles; long and full of people throwing out things like perfume and hair mousse. A Falls Church teacher who was traveling yesterday was quoted in the Post say saying, “I came this morning thinking all this stuff is just overkill. I’m just not sure the balance is right between inconvenience and all the security.” And we thought just taking off our shoes was bad. The real question: Is the TSA just throwing away the plethora of plastic bottles, or recycling them? To the folks who tossed out hair mousse — no worries, it’s out of style, anyway.

This Day in DCist: In 2005, we talked about pork coming to the District and the Park Hyatt liquidating its chairs. In 2004, we wrote about the P Street digs of John Edwards and discussed a possible Washington Wal-Mart.
