Former GW basketball standout Mike Hall has signed with the Washington Wizards. Though the contract is not guaranteed, it is Hall’s best chance of joining fellow classmate Pops Mensah-Bonsu in the big leagues (former teammate Danilo Pinnock also has a chance to make an NBA roster).
An active leader of the Colonials during his 4 years with the A-10 school, Hall was the “glue” guy on GW’s squad. He hustled around the court, grabbed offensive rebounds, played a capable interior and perimeter defense, and even added a 3-point shot to his skill set. The problem, scouts contended, was the lack of a single standout aspect to his game.
In order to make the Wizards’ final roster, he’ll need a strong training camp this October. Making it even more difficult for him will be the competition from the other 3 players the Wizards signed yesterday, James Lang, Kevinn Pinkney, and former UVA Cavalier Roger Mason Jr.
