Bonjour, Washington. Still reveling in the beauty of yesterday’s weather? Today it’ll be mostly sunny, with a high around 77. Of course, then there is the issue of having to go into work…no way around that one, really. As for walking around the city, watch out for those exploding manholes; oof.

Feds Seize Items from Alleged Area Prostitution Ring Owner
Seizing more than $427,000 in cash and stocks, looks like federal agents have busted in on the gig of one Deborah Jean Palfrey. Palfrey was the owner of Pamela Martin and Associates, which was described on the Web and in advertisements as “as an out-call prostitution business”. It’s suspected that some of the clients may have been well-known doctors and lawyers in the DC Metropolitan area, but no names have surfaced yet. The business closed in August 2006. According to The Smoking Gun’s website, who broke the story on Monday, her employees did not participate in “illegal sexual activities” said Palfrey.

Lorusso Testifies in Jemal Trial
In the federal court trial of DC mega-developer Douglas Jemal, a jaw-dropping testimony yesterday by media-deemed star witness Michael Lorusso showed just how he took advantage of the DC government. He cited giving contractors inflated profits as well as gifts paid for by the taxpayers as just few of his outrageous dealings. As noted in the Post article, “On my signature, I could take anything I wanted in the District,” Lorusso testified. Wow, comforting for someone dealing in DC development, no?
