For an ugly, rainy day, we bring you this much prettier water view. Flickr user maxedaperture took this steamy shot of the Shenandoah River in Front Royal, Virginia, near dawn. You can find the photo’s EXIF date here. Front Royal, if you’re wondering, is also the location of the National Zoo’s Conservation and Research Center, where they care for endangered animals.

Speaking of location information, we’d like to give a hat tip to Flickr user Eye Captain for pointing out this awesome feature. Now that Flickr let’s you add the location to your uploaded photos, we can bring them all together to show you where all our DCist tagged photos were taken. (Zoom in on the map to pinpoint the exact locations better.) So in the future, think about adding this information, then when we click on the red dots your photo will show up in the stream along with those taken on the same block. Pretty cool, huh?
