Personally, I’m going to go in an ale and eggnog coma starting, oh…in seven hours or so, but if you feel like getting up and about, here are some holiday weekend options for you.

FRIDAY

>> Nothing says Friday before Christmas like…a little Latvian punk-rock. Yup. We’ve heard wild things about both the music and antics of Latvian punkers Macitajs on Acid (and if Latvian musicians can drink anything like our Latvian friends, we’re sure they’re true), so head on over to the Black Cat main stage to check them out. With Owls and Crows and Sweatheart. $10.

SATURDAY

>> DailyCandy D.C. tips us off to a Holiday Open house at Pangea (2121 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) where you can do some exotic last-minute Christmas shopping. They’ll be selling gifts and offering goodies from locales like Peru, Ghana and Cambodia. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

>> The Folger Consort gives the best holiday concert in Washington. This year the theme is Olde Tyme Englishe Musicke™, a concert they are calling Greensleeves. It’s a program of 16th-century English music for Christmas on original instruments and sung by a quartet of four male voices, in the beautiful setting of the Folger’s Elizabethan theater. Tickets are scarce for tonight, but some still available for the final performances tomorrow, at 2 and 5 p.m. Folger Shakespeare Library (201 E. Capitol St. SE), $40.

SUNDAY

>> Dino, a great Italian place up in Cleveland Park, will be serving a Feast of the 7 Fish through this weekend, including Sunday evening. What is this 7 fish, you may ask? It’s a traditional Napoleon meal served on Christmas eve, and it’s all seafood “that usually includes fried fish, seafood soup, ravioli and a whole fish,” according to Dino’s web site. See the menu (PDF) and make your reservations!
