If you’re going to stage a free reading of Twelfth Night, having it January 6 to kick off the city’s “Shakespeare in Washington” festival counts as pretty good timing.

Plus, it has Balki.

The event will take place at the Kennedy Center’s Concert Hall at 6 p.m. tomorrow, and will star Bronson Pinchot, Veanne Cox, Jennifer Dundas, as well as a number of our favorite D.C. actors, like Will Gartshore, Scott McCormick and Regina Aquino. No tickets are necessary for the reading, so show up early.

Twelfth Night is only the first of about 80 zillion Bard-themed events that will take D.C. by storm between now and June for a Kennedy Center-sponsored festival.

There will be Shakespearean ballets, like Othello and Romeo and Juliet. There will be classical music contributions, including the Kirov Opera’s production of Falstaff and a number of orchestral concerts. The plays staged will be both traditional and Shakespeare-inspired, such as The Supreme Court Hears the Trial of Hamlet, and the Singing Shakespeare cabaret (yes, West Side Story counts as Shakespearean). And let’s not forget the lectures, the cinematic events and the art exhibits.
