This week hasn’t been easy for D.C.’s bravest. Though they suffered the pains of broken fire hydrants in Georgetown, we are thankful none of them were hurt in their smoke-eating heroics.

For those who have given their lives in duty, however, Baskin-Robbins is offering a 31 Cent Scoop Night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight. The event–and a related $100,000 donation–are in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, an Emmitsburg, Maryland based organization that offers programs assisting the families of fallen firefighters and provides fire-safety information to consumers. In addition to giving to the National Foundation, some Baskin-Robbins locations will enable customers to donate to a local station as well.

Although scoops will cost less than the price of a Yoda stamp, the BR will be shelling out scoops 2.5 ounces at a time. This author will be parked in front of the Cherries Jubilee and Heath Bar Crunch tubs, looking for our next ice cream fix. Never mind the glares from other hungry customers.

Locations in D.C. can be found near the Woodley Park and Eastern Market Metros, the G.W. campus, and Dupont Circle. Since the search for a BR won’t be as easy as finding a Starbucks, this tool will come in handy. 3 scoops for a less than a dollar, here we come!
