>> Akira Kurosawa’s adaptation of American crime novelist Evan Hunter’s King’s Ransom tells the story powerful businessman Toshiro Mifune, who receives a ransom letter for his son, only to discover the kidnappers mistakenly grabbed the son of his chauffeur. High and Low is at the AFI Silver Theater at 7 p.m., part of 50 Years of Janus Films.
