>> D.C. United opens SuperLiga! group play tonight against Monarcas Morelia. Seeking to capitalize on the growing rivalry between the U.S. and Mexico, the tournament pits MLS sides D.C., Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles against Mexican squads Morelia, Pachuca, América, and Chivas, with a $1 million purse going to the winner. The tournament has already produced some memorable matches; last night the Beckham-less Galaxy took down Pachuca 2-1 and Dallas tied Chivas 1-1. We’re predicting plenty of excitement tonight at Estadio RFK. The action starts at 8 p.m.
>> Peter Greenaway’s stunning 1985 film A Zed & Two Noughts (aka ZOO) sets up a series of surreal visions and obsessions surrounding a pair of twin brothers who lost their wives to a car crash, all set to a particularly creepy score by composer Michael Nyman. 7 p.m. at the Mary Pickford Theater at the Library of Congress.
