>> A photography exhibit that documents the Anacostia neighborhoods is traveling to Northern Ireland. The photos are by Mervyn Smith, who visited D.C. for a visual arts and creative writing residency, and they were displayed in an exhibit at the Honfleur Gallery early this summer. The exhibit will hang in two venues in the transitioning city of Belfast to show its similarities to Anacostia, where the river may divide the area from the city proper, but it also creates a tight-knit sense of community.
