It seems as if the producers of the upcoming HBO series based on the Washingtonienne book by Jessica Cutler decided that the pilot really needed some authenticity – the show’s crew was spotted by several DCist readers and contributors while shooting scenes last night in Adams Morgan. Apparently, the crew blocked lanes of traffic on 18th Street and a significant portion of the sidewalk.
Well, look, I’ve never backed a large-scale dramedy for HBO (and far be it from me to judge the logistical genius of Sarah Jessica Parker), but this Districtonian would probably have to think for a long while before imagining a more painful location to shoot than in the heart of the 18th Street strip on a Saturday night. I mean, this couldn’t wait until say, Tuesday night?
Word is that the newly-named actresses working the pilot were dressed classically. What, no flip-flops? Where’s the Method, ladies?
Let us know in the comments if you were in Adams Morgan last night and managed to get on camera as an extra.
