» Lenny Robinson, this week’s Three Stars artist, already mentioned the annual Christmas Day Jazz Jam on the Millennium Stage. The show is always packed, so get there early if you want a seat. 6 p.m. Free.

» Every year, piano legend Ahmad Jamal sets up shop at Blues Alley for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, culminating with a New Year’s Eve Celebration along with the Keter Betts Memorial Band. His annual run begins this Friday, and tickets to the daily 8 and 10 p.m. sets are $40 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge. New Year’s sets are at 6:30 and 10 p.m., $110.

» Local natives The Anderson Twins will be at Twins Jazz this Friday and Saturday for 9 and 11 p.m. sets. Tickets are $15.

» Drummer Dave McDonald plays for the Airmen of Note, the premiere jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force. He will be leading his own group on Monday at the Bossa Bistro & Lounge. No cover, 9:30 p.m.

» If you’re still looking for New Year’s Eve plans, consider this year’s Kennedy Center’s annual celebration, featuring the New York Voices and the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band. Tickets are sold out, but contact the box office for last-minute cancellations.
