>> On Thursday, the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage presents Ecuador’s Jazz Envoys, a group that blends the indigenous sounds of its homeland with jazz to create a unique groove. The free show begins at 6 p.m.
>> Latin jazz legend Paquito D’Rivera comes to Strathmore on Thursday to play with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. This should make for a special night of music and tickets to the 8 p.m. show are available online for $30.
>> Friday is a busy day in jazz land, with the week’s must see taking place at the Strathmore. Earlier this year, jazz singer, educator, and D.C. institution Ronnie Wells (pictured) succumbed to cancer, and this week a host of D.C. jazzers will pay tribute to her with music. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $15 and available online.
